The Legacy System Explained: Account-Wide Progression
World of Warcraft: Forever introduces the Legacy System, an account-wide horizontal progression system focused on exploration and character achievements. The system has three major components: Legacy Challenges, Legacy Perks, and Legacy Rewards.
There are sixty-five Legacy Challenges organized into six categories: Classes (27 points), Tradeskills (18 points), Player vs. Player (12 points), Adventure (2 points), Dungeons (3 points), and Raids (3 points). Each challenge completed earns you one Legacy Point.
At the launch of the game, each character can spend up to 16 points total in the Legacy perk trees. A single character can earn enough points through leveling, professions, PvP, and dungeons to reach the 16-point cap without creating alternate characters.
Accumulating Legacy Points across an account unlocks collectible cosmetic rewards, including the Replica Ironforge Air Rifle, Spectral Bear Cub pet, Spectral Bear Tabard, and Reins of the Spectral Bear mount.
Legacy Perk Trees
The account-wide perk system is organized across three primary trees:
| Tree Index | Specialization Branch | Node Count | Key Benefits |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Professions | 7 Nodes | Skill gain chance, gathering yield, vendor bartering, and cooking yield |
| 2 | Adventure | 7 Nodes | Rested experience, health/mana return, camping cooldowns, and flight speeds |
| 3 | Resourcefulness | 7 Nodes | Buff duration, ghost movement speed, death durability, and PvP honor gains |
